Homogenization

Raw meal homogenization is achieved in our Controlled Flow Inverted (CFI) cone silo, also designed by F.L. Smidth. The blending silo has a capacity of 12,000 MT. Raw meal is fed from the top of the silo through a splitter box. At all times, the silo is filled with raw meal to 80% of its capacity for better blending. From the bottom of the silo, 0.8 bar pressure aeration is applied to agitate the material. Homogenized raw meal is extracted from the silo bottom and transported onward to the preheater top by belt bucket conveyor.

RCL’s continuous blending and storage technique for operating our silo allows us to consume lesser power in achieving high blending efficiency. Silo extraction is controlled by a PLC to ensure consistent quality, which helps us to achieve a smoother and more efficient operation of our kiln.
